Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s track list is out, listen to the soundtrack now
Funky Sounds From The Past
Marvel has released the official track listing for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and even though it’s not officially out until Friday, you can stream it right now.
The funk tracks that often dominated the first film's soundtrack have been supplanted by more emotional songs to pull at your heart strings. For example, songs like Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling,” The Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” and The Runaways’ “Cherry Bomb” have been replaced with Cat Stevens’ “Father And Son” and George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord.” The full list can be seen below.
The change in direction for the soundtrack does make a lot of sense. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will follow Star-Lord as he meets his father for the first time and is dealing with those complex, emotional feelings.
Again, the official soundtrack isn’t out until Friday, but you can listen to the entire album via the Spotfiy embed below.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released on May 5.
