Kobe on Randle's favorable situation as a rookie: 'You f--- this up, you're a really big idiot'

For the first time since Andrew Bynum was selected 10th overall in 2005, Kobe Bryant will be playing with a rookie lottery pick this season.

Julius Randle, selected No. 7 out of Kentucky in June, is the franchise's highest draft selection since James Worthy was taken first overall back in 1982. When you land a superstar like Bryant shortly after he's taken 13th overall and win five championships in the years that follow, high draft picks aren't exactly a part of the building plan.

And so this season, the world will see Bryant mentoring a young potential star. It's going to be interesting. As Bryant looks to instil a strong work ethic in Randle, he has a warning for his young charge: don't mess this up.

"If you fuck this up, you're a really big idiot," Bryant said Sunday when asked of his message to Randle. "ESPN are idiots, but you're really a big idiot if you manage to fuck this up."

Head coach Byron Scott praised Randle's play a great deal on Sunday, but Bryant wasn't willing to go beyond his strong words of caution. Randle's received the message.

"It's for me to mess it up," Randle said. "Kobe said you can't mess it up unless you want to. I intentionally have to mess things up."

Randle hasn't set the world afire in preseason so far, averaging just 7.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in 19.2 minutes and shooting an ugly 41.2 percent, but it's still very early in his development. With Bryant on his case for at least two full seasons, Randle's either going to make it or be broken trying.

Anonymous Claims They Forced Atlantic Records To Give Lupe Fiasco’s Album A Release Date

(AllHipHop News) Lupe Fiasco finally received a release date for his upcoming album Tetsuo and Youth. The project is now scheduled to hit stores January 20, 2015. It has been over a year since Lupe announced the album, but issues with his label Atlantic Records apparently kept the LP on the shelf.

So what pushed the company to finally set a date for Tetsuo and Youth? The hacktivisit group Anonymous is claiming credit for the move. Anonymous used its Twitter account to threaten Atlantic – release Lupes album or face the wrath of online hackers.

@AtlanticRecords: If you do not comply, we will launch a direct attach against your website, your associates, and your executives.

Hours later Atlantic announced a date for Lupes project. It may have been a coincidence, but according to Anonymous, their threat played a major role in the announcement. They released the following statement:

Citizens of the World and lovers of conscious music

We are Anonymous.

24 hours ago we released a short Twitter ultimatum. We called upon record label Atlantic Records, responsible for releasing conscious rap artist Lupe Fiascos long awaited Album. We demanded a statement from the label within 24 hours to release a date or we would unleash the complete and utter fury of our collective on their company and executives. 21 hours later they released a short Tweet citing the album and its release date.

At this time it can be concluded that we have proved our point. We wish music that is educating the masses to keep being released. We will fight for that. Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common and others are the moving force behind conscious rap. This is music we will fight for.

Operation Atlantic, Operation Free Lupe; disengaged.

Mission Accomplished.

We are Anonymous.

Never cease to expect us.

Big Sean Confirms Collaboration with Eminem

With new girlfriend Ariana Grande on his arm and a popular new single blasting on the airways, Big Sean is nothing but smiles. Well it seems he can add something else to his list, because Big Sean is finally going to work with his hometown hero, Eminem. In a recent interview with Mike Sullivan at 97.1 The Ticket for WXYT - CBS Detroit, Big Sean revealed a collaboration with the fellow Detroit rapper is in the works.
When asked if he would be working with Eminem any time soon, Sean immediately replied, “Yes, you can expect a little something-something sooner or later.”
In a previous interview Big Sean did with Huffington Post last year, he revealed his admiration for the hip-hop veteran. “That was just an honor,” said Big Sean. “Coming from the D … that was the person that showed us that it was real, that showed us you could be the biggest in the world from where we from.”

Let’s hope the song (s) will be featured on his forthcoming album.

Marcus Jordan Shows Off Air Jordan 4Lab1

We've already seen several leaked images of what's believed to be the Air Jordan 4Lab1, but the latest preview comes from none other than MJ's own son, Marcus Jordan. The image shows a top view and profile shot of the latest retro mashup and all its netting details. There's also another teaser that showcases the 3M reflective properties on the entire sneaker's upper.

Still no official release date from Nike or Jordan Brand, but with this latest look from an obviously well-connected source, it looks like it's for certain that there will be a 4Lab1 dropping.
