6 New Artists to Discover at SXSW 2015

While SXSW has become a tradition of big names partnering with big brands for performances, it's nice to know there's still a possibility for fresh talent to be seen and heard. In between The Fader Fort, a BBQ hosted by Nas and the keynote speech by Snoop Dogg, be sure to hit up Hype Machine’s Hype Hotel to discover these new acts.

Presented by Mazda and Taco Bell, Hype Hotel has a reputation for showcasing those on the brink of stardom. Last year's line-up included SZA and Tinashe. Take a look at the dope newcomers making their Hype Hotel debut in 2015.

Raury

The Atlanta rapper/singer was signed to Columbia Records after the release of just his first mixtape, Indigo Child, back in 2014. The 18-year-old mixes hip-hop, soul and folk and was recently deemed a MTV Artist to Watch.

Hudson Mohawke

G.O.O.D. Music producer/DJ Hudson Mohawke hails from Scotland but is heavy into hip-hop. Mohawke has remixed popular Kanye joints and has worked with Pusha T, French Montana and Travis $cott. Which rap stars will he bring out during his set at the Hype Hotel?

Mick Jenkins

The Chi-town upstart is gaining steam thanks to an impressively metaphorical sophomore mixtape, The Water[s] and co-signs from Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper. Peep his SXSW set in 2014 before you see him this year.

 Y. Rome

Hailing from the New York area  $plitzVille's Y. Rome leads the pack as one of the most talked about artist from the area. Popping up at various events and receiving co-signs from DJ Absolut, & Charles Hamilton, Y.Rome may be on the verge of something special.

Lion Babe

The NYC based duo Lion Babe marries synth-soul and hip-hop for dancey matrimony. They've collabed with Childish Gambino and are making their first appearance at Hype Hotel.

 UNiiQU3

This Jersey DJ/rapper known to get the party jumping is bringing her personal style of bounce to Hype Hotel.
