Beyoncé Is the Latest Artist to Collaborate With Shoe Designer Giuseppe Zanotti
Since debuting his first shoe collection in 1995, Giuseppe Zanotti has always used music as a source of inspiration.
"For me the music comes first, then comes the fashion," he tells Forbes. "I used to be more into rock, but now I’m closer to the world of hip hop. Hip hop is the strongest form of protest there is, and it doesn’t always have to be a violent protest. It can be romantic also."
His love for the genre has been pretty evident during the past few years, as the Italian designer has teamed up with artists like Kid Cudi and longtime friend Kanye West, who helped design sneakers and a pair of sex-inspired sandals for the label.
And now, Zanotti is teaming up with Beyoncé for a shoe inspired by her own vision. And although we don’t know much about the design, Forbes did get a look at the sketch.
"Beyoncé has very clear ideas—she knows exactly what she wants. The thing which she then also has over other celebrities, is that she has an amazing voice. She’s incredibly talented and she’s an amazing dancer—she’s complete. Few are like Beyoncé," says Zanotti, who supplied the singer with plenty of shoes for her Mrs. Carter World Tour. "I’m working on finalizing the shoe with her stylist right now. And Beyoncé will then say what she likes and what she doesn’t like. It will be one shoe only."
Is Jay Z next, though?
The design is scheduled to drop in the next week or two, according to Forbes. So stayed tuned if you want to cop a pair for your girl—just be prepared to drop a shit load of money.
