Childish Gambino comes in to chat it up with Rosenberg. Childish talks about his track "3005" and how it was the last song to get on the album Because The Internet. "3005" became a radio hit, which is why they made it. Listening to it sonically they knew it was something kids would bop to, a pop record. You know, one of those maybe annoying songs you can't get out of your head, but love to rock out to. Gambino explains that the whole album is actually a pop album, they never wanted to make a rap album.
"Rap is done" he explains, it doesn't do what it used to do or what it's supposed to do anymore, the social work, if you will. There is a new era coming through.
