Why NBA Live Vs.NBA 2K is Now a competition again

The Fall is almost upon us and football is making its season debut tonight, but soon Basket Ball season will be here as well. This leads us to the age old question ever since fall 1999...Live or 2K? After Live 2005 2k begin to consistently dominate EA's franchise to the point where it seemed like Live would be no more.

Every time Live gained any type of momentum 2k would come down like Tekken (Iron Fist) . A Perfect example is NBA Elite 11(Live). Elite was going to be Live's new comeback under a different name and they where making a little bit of noise and you know how 2k responded? Bringing out Micheal Jordan the  greatest damn basketball player of all  time on the cover. (Jordan usually doesn't appear in games unless he's the main guy example NBA streets vol 2 there is an all jordan team from different eras of his career and he appears on the cover of the game...he doesnt want people making money off his likeness ). 2k then pretty much dedicated a game mode to Jordan so the players could re-live his greatest moments. Also he introduction of a revamped my career mode, a mode that is prominent in the 2k series spelled doom for Elite 11...it was canceled at the last minute right before release. Currently 2k after having players like Jordan, Bird  ,Magic Johnson, Kobe, Jordan, Derrick Rose, and Blake Griffin they seem to be putting a familiar face Kevin Durant as the poster boy for 2k15. Peep the cover below...

2k has continued this competitive thrashing by releasing the NBA 2k15 Yakeem trailer on the same day as Live posted that their cover athlete would in fact be rising star Damian Lilard of the Trail Blazers. (NBALive15 cover)

Sources say 2K did that as a sparingly way of telling "Live to not come out this year". Not taking it lying down though Live has now dropped its own trailer and in a lot of ways it actually looks good. It's a tall leap from last years sub par title and visually if not better it does look like it can compete with 2Ks installment this year...Check out both trailers and tell us at thisisblaine.blogspot what ya'll think. Has the competition between these two juggernauts been restored?
